Credentials

A Systemic Approach

I have been exploring systemic and relational ways of working with people since 1995 and my therapeutic practice is located within the field of mental health and emotional wellness. I completed a PG Diploma in Mental Health Nursing in 2013 followed by an additional year in Public Health Visiting, family and community. It was a return to my early career where I was a Substance Misuse counsellor and HIV trainer between 1987 and 1995.

My professional background has spanned, community and workplace mediation,  systemic coaching, training consultancy and group facilitation in the public and not-for-profit health and social care sectors. In these roles, I developed a range of learning methods and creative approaches for working with groups, teams, and individuals. in 1998 I completed a Master's in Human Resource Development, followed by a PG Diploma in Systemic Management in 2000.

From 2003-2010 I pioneered an innovative coaching programme for Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) employees across a number of public sector organisations. In 2011 I returned to therapeutic work and undertook a PG Diploma in Mental Health Nursing. Working on the mental health wards of several large NHS trusts was a revelation. In many ways, it was a crisis intervention working with people 'on the edge of society, but it resonated with me.

I have long been interested in alternative approaches to individual and family emotional well-being. These 'other ways of knowing' draw on indigenous wisdom traditions, where physical health and mental wealth are interrelated and span generations of family life. The Western and Indigenous are integrated into my Ancestral Constellations process, giving space for spiritual life to be incorporated into therapeutic practice.
